Spira is a company specialized in heritage revitalization projects with an experience of over 20 years in the sector.
Spira is recognized for its degree of problem solving and innovative solutions to old and new challenges in Cultural Heritage, in all its projects.
Spira works in the areas of Cultural and Landscape Touring, Education, Training, Communication and Cultural Heritage Consultancy.
The work in these areas at the service of several entities and organizations derives from the accumulated experience in projects created, produced and managed by Spira, itself.
From these we highlight the pioneer “Rota do Fresco” – the first cultural tourism route in Portugal; the industry’s communication platform “patrimonio.pt“; the already international “Bienal Ibérica do Património Cultural“; the “Cultural Heritage Management Course” in partnership with prestigious Portuguese universities. Spira was also the creator and coordinator of the relevant study “Património Cultural em Portugal: Avaliação do Valor Económico e Social” launched in 2020 which identifies important strategic recommendations for the sector’s policy within 10 years.
Always seeking for effective excellence, Spira holds the NP 4457 – Management Systems, Research, Development and Innovation and is a member of COTEC – Entrepreneurial Association for Innovation.
In 2019, the project “Somos o que Comemos – o património alimentar nos parques e monumentos de Sintra“, created and fully developed by Spira for Parques de Sintra – Monte da Lua, on the occasion of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, won the 1st Prize of the European Cultural Tourism Network in the category “Actions within the scope of the European Year of Cultural Heritage”.
